“The Gioconda” reimagines Da Vinci’s iconic figure through a contemporary lens, where overlapping black stains across her face evoke the presence of a veil. Far from concealing, this Gioconda reclaims the gaze: defiant, dignified, and self-aware. Rather than revealing, she invites contemplation. She remains enigmatic—yet now layered with new questions: Who is watching whom? From which cultural frame?

Her gaze becomes both witness and judge of contemporary art, of desire, of history. The mixed media technique enhances its expressive intensity. A critical, conceptual, and evocative work—with multiple layers of meaning.
